Sans fear

I've been afraid of using sans serif fonts for a while. I don't know why. I really like them when they're used well.

Anyway, I picked up a few beauties from this amazing name-your-price trendy typeface website, and I've been designing up a storm ever since then.

Exhibit A: This blog's new look. Still working out a few kinks, but so far, I like it.

I took a creative writing seminar once and someone talked about serif vs sans serif. It was interesting. It's hard to read long blocks of text sans serif from what I understand. I don't know why.

I love sans serif. All those little extra doohickies must go ... give me minimalist letters!

(OK, now I have to figure out the word verification, which is really hard BECAUSE OF THE SERIFS!)

Love you! Mom XOXOXOXOXOXO

James, hence the main body of the blog remaining serif-ed.

For text blocks, I like the serif-for-printed-page, sans-for-tv/computer-screen rule. My eyeballs agree with it.
